How high should you hang a picture?
On a bare wall or above furniture: we compute the height of the centre of the artwork, museum-style.
Hang a piece by centring its middle at 150 cm from the floor, the museum eye level. Above furniture, set the bottom edge about 20 cm above the piece instead. For a gallery wall, treat the group as one work centred at 150 cm, with 5-7 cm between frames.
Practical tip: measure from the floor, mark the centre, then go up by half the height for the top edge.

How high to hang a picture?+
Centre the work at 150 cm from the floor. It's the museum hanging height: neither too high nor lost at the bottom of the wall.
How high above a sofa?+
Set the bottom edge 20-25 cm above the backrest: the work talks to the sofa instead of floating.
How to hang a gallery wall?+
Lay it out on the floor first, treat the whole as one work centred at 150 cm, and keep 5 to 7 cm between each frame.
What spacing between two frames?+
5 to 8 cm for a coherent look. Tighter feels dense, wider breaks the group effect.
