Transparency, above all.
How Ma Bible Déco earns a living, and why you can trust the products we recommend.
§ 01The editorial pact
Ma Bible Déco is an independent editorial manual. No brand pays to be featured in our rules. No product is mentioned in exchange for money, gifts, or placement.
Our only commitment is to you. To share the actual rules used by interior designers, explained clearly, without trends or noise. Brands and products are mentioned because they serve the rule, never the other way around.
§ 02How we make a living
To keep this content free, without aggressive advertising or forced sign-ups, we monetise the site three ways.
Affiliate links. When you buy a product through a link we provide, the merchant pays us a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay. This commission funds the editorial work, visual production, and technical infrastructure of the site.
Display advertising. We show Google AdSense banners in three specific spots on rule pages. These placements are designed to never interrupt reading. No ads on the homepage, no ads on chapter pages, no pop-ups.
Bulletin sponsorship. Roughly once a month, our newsletter The Bulletin features an editorial partner. These partnerships are always clearly marked “Presented by [Brand]” and never affect the body of the rule itself.
§ 03How we choose products
Three criteria, in this order.
Relevance. The product must serve the rule. A bulb recommended for rule 02.2 on colour temperature must have the right Kelvin, the right CRI, and exist in a dimmable version. If we cannot find the right product, we recommend nothing.
Quality. We favour brands known for durability and editorial consistency. Farrow & Ball, AM.PM, La Redoute Intérieurs, Maisons du Monde, IKEA. We also feature lesser-known brands when they deserve it.
Availability. The product must be deliverable to your country, in a reasonable timeframe, with no hidden fees.
Commission rate never enters the choice. If Amazon pays us 3% and La Redoute 7%, but Amazon has the right product, we recommend Amazon.
§ 04What we will never do
For this transparency to mean anything, here is what you will never see on Ma Bible Déco.
- No disguised product placement. If a brand funds content, it is clearly disclosed.
- No paid 5-star ratings. We do not rate products.
- No newsletter pop-up upon arrival. Bulletin sign-up is always visible, never forced.
- No third-party advertising tracking beyond the essential. We use a cookie-free analytics tool hosted in Europe, which does not track anyone outside our own site.
- No selling your email. Ever. If you sign up for The Bulletin, your address stays with us, managed by our email provider, used only to send you The Bulletin.
§ 05Let us know
If you see a recommended product that seems poor, dated, out of stock, or inconsistent with the rule, tell us.
We read everything and fix it quickly.
We earn our living on the purchase click, never on the promise of the rule.
